SERDANG, 21 September 2024 – MKR HARTAMAS (MKR) proudly introduces Malaysia’s first electric vehicle (EV) tractor, the TerraGlide EV40, in a significant move towards transforming the nation’s agricultural sector. The TerraGlide EV40, a fully electric tractor, produces zero carbon emissions, aligning with the national agenda to combat climate change and promote sustainable farming practices.
This groundbreaking initiative supports the Dasar Agromakanan Negara 2.0, Malaysia’s key policy for the development of a sustainable, tech-driven agriculture sector. TerraGlide EV40 represents a pivotal step in addressing the pressing need for climate-conscious solutions in agriculture, offering farmers a powerful, green alternative to traditional machinery.
MKR’s TerraGlide EV40 launch coincides with the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key partners, including Credence (a TM company), represented by its Senior VP of Operations Moharmustaqeem Mohammed, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) represented by its Head of the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Nazmi Mat Nawi, Thai Achitech,represented by its Managing Director, Kingpetch Hempotirat,and Rompin Dairy Farm represented by its CEO, Fahrizal Dato’ Srihassan. MKR was represented by its CEO, Khalili Rosly. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato’ Wira Haji Mahfuz Omar, Chairman of Farmer’s Organisation Authority (LPP), Zaipudin Mohamad, Director of Engineering Division of LPP, and Mohd Fadzil Mat Desa, Director of Mechanical and Electrical Division of Muda Agriculture Development Authority (MADA) at MAHA 2024 (Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism International Show).
These collaborations are set to accelerate the advancement of smart agriculture solutions, with an emphasis on IoT (Internet of Things), cloud-based digital services, and greener farming technologies to optimise crop yields, enhance precision farming techniques, and significantly reduce carbon footprints.
